ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, made this disclosure during one appearance on Stations TV's socio-political program with Laolu Akande.
"In the beyond 90 days, from May to August 2024, Nigerian colleges lost 84 scholastics to death due to what our kin are going through," Osodeke expressed.
He featured the desperate circumstance looked by college staff, taking note of that the public authority keeps on keeping pay rates, executing approaches, for example, fuel and power cost climbs in the midst of continuous monetary battles.
Osodeke scrutinized the National Government's "no-work, no-pay" strategy, which influences pay rates during strikes, expressing, "Regardless of this emergency, you are holding someone's three-and-a-half or more compensations on the no-work, no-pay. He called for expanded financing for college training, accentuating that to guarantee the area's ideal working, teachers should be sufficiently redressed.
